Meet the Team
Erika Lee -
Founder of Erika Lee Equestrian & Director of Education at Remington Farm Equestrian Academy
I bring over 20 years of experience training and teaching riders of all ages and levels. I am a Level III USEA certified instructor (ECP) coach and achieved my A-rating in both eventing and dressage through the United States Pony Club (USPC) at just 18 years old. After teaching throughout college starting in 2005, I turned my passion into a full-time career in 2010. I am deeply committed to growing the equestrian community, and dedicate significant time to supporting local Pony Clubs, believing that Pony Club provides an excellent foundation for riders of all ages in solid and correct horsemanship.
When instructing, I focus on improving the confidence of both horse and rider by teaching fundamentals that foster communication, partnership, and harmony. I emphasize creating well-rounded riders through horsemanship, leadership, and a deep respect for both horse and rider. As an active competitor in both eventing and dressage, I am a USDF bronze medalist and have successfully developed several horses and students through the preliminary level. I am currently working towards my silver medal in dressage.
As a skilled horsewoman, my experience across multiple disciplines allows me to work effectively with young or challenging horses, approaching each situation with creativity and problem-solving. I place strong emphasis on the basics to help riders develop lasting, positive partnerships with their horses. For me, happy, willing horses are nurtured through patience, empathy, and excellent care in healthy training environments. Known for my positive attitude, love of equestrian sport, and dedication to teaching, I consistently encourage riders to embrace learning opportunities and grow in both skill and confidence.

Kiola Krienke - Former Head Groom and Assistant
Though Kiola has moved onto new life adventures, it's important to me to honor the mark she made on my program. Kiola brought over 20 years of experience as a horsewoman and rider to Erika Lee Equestrian. She was an invaluable source of support and friendship to my team and me for many years, and we honor her skill, care, and dedication to both horses and riders. Kiola played a pivotal role in horse care, program management, and teaching beginner lessons. Her thoughtful approach to horsemanship has left a lasting impact on the program and caring community we continue to build today.
Elaine Ackerly - Groundwork Specialist and Trainer
I collaborate regularly with local groundwork trainer and specialist, Elaine Ackerly, to support clients - both horse and person - in building trust and confidence. Elaine is an experienced horsewoman and highly regarded for her skills in starting horses correctly, addressing behavioral issues, and helping owners build confidence with their horses. Elaine's self-owned business, Hear the Herd, is local in Monroe and she travels to Remington Farm, as well as other nearby areas.
Elaine has proven experience helping horses overcome a variety of obstacles including fear, reactivity, shying, pushiness, impatience when being mounted or groomed, difficulty trailer loading, shoeing issues, and a host of other common issues. She also gentles Mustangs and other unhandled horses and can help with restarting horses, even if they have been sitting idle for a long time.
